Orchards Pupils in Court!
Worthing and Arun Schools Junior Magistrates Competition
On Thursday 22nd June three of our Year 6 pupils, Daisy Martin, Ivy Hite and Basil Chirathilttu, took part in the Junior Magistrates competition held at Worthing Law Court. Schools from all over Worthing and the Arun area entered and we are delighted that our team came 3rd. The children had to observe a mock trial, consider the evidence and present their findings back to the court: they also completed a quiz based on the laws of the U.K. We were so proud of the team, who presented their decision confidently and eloquently to a packed court room, giving clear and well-thought reasons for their guilty verdict. It was a fun and interesting evening to be part of and the three participants should be very proud of themselves.
